Val Thorens Transfers FAQs

Here are some commonly asked questions about your journey:

Can Transfer Times Vary?

Your transfer from Geneva Airport can take longer due to adverse weather conditions. Bear in mind your driver will always choose the best possible route in any situation, never compromising on safety.

Also, remember that traffic can result in delays also. During peak ski season, such as school holidays, this is more likely to occur.

Can I Track My Driver?

With our Alps2Alps app, you can track your driver’s live location - straight from your phone. With a few clicks of a button, you can see exactly where they are and how long the journey is.

This app also allows you to contact your driver directly, or our 24/7 help service.

How Can I Get as Much Slope Time as Possible?

Travelling midweek not only means quieter slopes, but also quieter roads! This means it’s more likely you’ll get to your resort in the best time possible, allowing you to spend more time skiing.

Is There Any Way to Save Money on My Transfer?

For the cheapest ski transfers, avoid weekends and school holidays. You can save as much as 60% by opting to travel midweek.

What's the Standard Route?

This will usually take you via Annecy. This route starts on the motorway, heading towards Annecy/Albertville.

This is quicker than continuing down the motorway towards Chambery.

Can My Driver Make Any Stops Along the Way?

Should you need to, your transfer driver can make a stop to pick up some last minute holiday supplies.

Also, if you or your children feel unwell at the high altitude, simply ask your driver to pull over.

Can I Fly to a Different Airport?

It’s always handy to know alternative airports. Others located close to Geneva include Grenoble Airport (GNB) and Lyon Airport (LYS).

What are the benefits of this mode of travel over public transport?

Ski Rental En-Route

Why not take advantage of our ski rental store

Flexible Pick Up Times

With a ski transfer, you don’t have to adhere to anyone else’s schedule. Your driver will collect you at a time that’s convenient for you, tracking when your flight gets in.

They’ll be waiting in the arrivals hall to take you to your final destination.

Door to Door Service

You simply won’t get the same level of comfort or find the same dedicated service with public transport.

With private and shared transfers, your driver will drop you off and collect you from your chosen spots. There’s no need to travel to meet them.

Hassle-Free

For some, public transport might seem to be the obvious choice. However, it can result in significant delays and less time on the slopes, due to the frequent changes and waiting around.

Using a transfer company avoids these issues, which is particularly welcome if you’re travelling in the company of younger skiers.
